Artsy Fartsy~~~ Shadow Art

Hi Everyone! This week I wanted to talk about shadows. The other night I stayed up late to watch a scary show.....very scary show.

Since I was the last one up after the show ended I went around checking the house...making sure the doors were locked ( and no monsters were lurking) I finally ended up in my comfy bed right next to my snoring hubby.  I closed my eyes and right before I drifted to sleep a shadow passed by my closed lids. I awoke with a start convinced a stranger or Zombie was in the house. ...nope, no monsters...just my neighbor's car lights entering his driveway.

Years ago the Hubster and I were in the back yard witnessing some celestial event late at night. I don't remember if it was an eclipse or meteor shower.  We turned off all the lights in the house so that we could get a clear view out in the yard with no artificial light to interrupt the night sky show. It was very cold so after a while everyone went back inside.  I decided to take one last look from the kitchen glass door. When I looked out...there was someone looking back at me.... they were right out side the door!!!! I SCREAMED!

                  It was Terrifying....

                         It was Frightening....

                                 It was Me!

The lights were still off in the house and I was looking at my own reflection!

Shadows in the night can be scary, but they can also be artistic. Here is a video I found featuring Shadow art

What are the Odds?

Today I did what I usually do.....a gazillion things all at once. The hubster, asked me to do one thing...just
                                   .

"Hey, hun, on your way home...will ya buy a mega millions lotto ticket?"

You see at his job everyone will pitch in ten dollars worth of tickets and the agreement is that if one wins they all win.

Guess what I forgot to do.......

I FORGOT TO BUY THE STINKIN' TICKET!

So if the odds of winning (1-175 million) are in favor of my Hubby's work team.....

I will be in the   for the rest of my LIFE!

Hi Everyone!  Happy belated Valentine's Day!

I meant to post this yesterday, but better late than never right?

I have posted art by Mary Doodles before on this blog. I think she is awesome! I love how she positions the camera above her paper and we get to see the entire process. She takes suggestions from her followers and runs with the theme...It's mesmerizing.

So in honor of Valentine's Day (one day late) I give you...

Snow and Ice

Hi everyone,....it has been a while.

I'm sorry about that. I feel so out of touch with everything here in bloggy world.

So lets see, where should I begin?

We've had  a lot of snow

            and ice

                       A whole lotta' ice.
The poor bush in front of my home

In fact the lake near us has not frozen over in years and years. This is the very first year that I have seen people ice skating on it.

I don't think I would be so brave as to venture out on the ice, but these people seemed confident. Right after I took these shots I got back in my car only to find that my car was stuck on the the icy parking spot. UGH!
Slide on the soap

My tire whirled and whirled until I was able to figure out a way out.

We are supposed to get more snow overnight.

But I won't let that get me down, I might just go ice skating
ice skating
no, that's not me

Stay warm everyone. I'm going to make sure I stop by your blogs today!
