...BUY ANOTHER SONY TV AGAIN!
When I first started this blog ... (about 3 1/2 years ago) one of my first post was about how things are always breaking down around here. I took a picture of our TV ..(a SONY) because the picture screen would show no Green color at all.
When I called the company The young man simply stated...it might be better if we bought another TV. That TV was less than 5 years old!. Right before the absence of Green, My Sweet Husband had bought another TV for the basement ("Man Room "that never was).
"Well", he said "I guess I bought this just in time. Instead of going downstairs we'll just put the new one in the Living Room." It was another Sony. Now lets clarify...He Bought another SONY not knowing that our old TV was going to go wacko..
We had no idea that Sony was now making these TVs with parts that would wear out within years. There was a whole law suit with throngs of people complaining about the very same thing that happened to us.
So, we crossed our fingers and hoped that The absence of the color green would not be a problem with the new TV.
Three years later... I can honestly say that the absence of green has never been a problem
We've got plenty of green,
and red,
and orange

OUCH!! I feel the same way about Samsung TVs!!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, UGH! not the Samsung too?! Say it ain't so!
DeleteMy sister had the same problem (not sure which brand of TV, though). I'm sure it's not only Sonys.
ReplyDeleteHi Alice! Oh my goodness wouldn't it just suck if ALL the TVs were like this?
DeleteUsed to be that things were built to last sadly doesn't seem to be that way anymore.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!! And isn't it true that most things break right after the warranty is over. We usually buy Panasonic because Consumer Reports rate them high in not needing repair. I had not heard anything abut these T.V.'s or the parts or the lawsuits. I will certainly stay away from them. Keep us informed of what happens next. Here is a address with a great website that I use all the time. anything you want to buy, they use all the magazines and critics and tell you the very best to buy. www.consumersearch.com
ReplyDeleteOh Hi Ginny I have missed you! Thank you for the web site ... I will certainly use it!
DeleteThat is totally hysterical! I laughed out loud when I saw the crazy green and red stripes! I thought Sony wasn't sneaky like that, rigging the TVs to break after a few years. RAT BASTARDS!
ReplyDeleteHello my twin! Yes, they are sneaky sneaky sneaky...nothing lasts anymore. Whats worse is that the Hubster bought me a sony camera for my birthday too...how long before that blows up? UGH!
DeleteHow very disappointing. Really, more than disappointing. This makes me mad too! You just can't trust so many appliances and such these days. Read Consumer Reports before buying, is my advice.
