Hi All
It's me
The long lost blogger.
I feel like it's been ages. Every time I sit down to write
something else takes my attention away.
OK, true story.
I sit down to write...I can't , then I get up and go into the living room and I found Mommy Dearest on Net Flix. It's one of those movies that's so bad...It's like watching a person ice skate for the first time...
So instead of writing in my very neglected blog...I watch nearly the whole movie ( Why, I DON'T know) I spend time analyzing and re-doing scenes in my head--I weighed the pros and cons of the movie. I researched a bit about Christina Crawford and why she felt the need to write her book after her famous Mom died and not before. I wondered why in heaven's name did Faye Dunaway do that thing with her eyes in a scene... Was she tired? Did the director tell her to do the cross-eyed thingy for some kind of effect?
I mean I spent time on this!!!!
I went back to the computer and tried to write a blog post and .....NOTHING
I am the worst blogger ever!!!!
And THEN you realized that we would all like to hear about Mommy Dearest. Would you believe I read that horrible book. I think people write books like that AFTER the person passes on so they won't face legal action. (also perhaps because they are not true).
ReplyDeleteHi Delores, I didn't read the book but I do remember going to the movies with my friends to see the film. Even as a teen I found the movie really over the top. So why did I watch it again?! Lol! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI read the book, but can't remember if I saw the movie. So now I suppose you are getting rid of all your wire hangers...
ReplyDeleteLol!!!!!! Hi Ginny! That scene in the movie was really over the top!
DeleteHi Joanne, I wouldn't know you were the worst blogger because this is the first time I have stopped by your blog for a while. Since my husband had a stroke last August I try and squeeze time for my art and blogs whenever I can. That is a pretty thought provoking question about Faye Dunaway's eyes. I never thought about that but it sure was a good expression to make her look really mean. We'll probably never know.
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. I will keep him and you in my prayers

ReplyDeleteSometimes, the well just runs dry. That is what happens to me. Also, life gets busy. Good to see you though.
ReplyDeleteHI Joanne,
ReplyDeleteI never saw the movie or read the book, but that was a scary scene! I'm just getting back into blogging after a long absence, so I understand. But, I hope you won't be gone too long!! Take care
