Did you ever do this?
source
I don't think I ever did, but the image is so sweet and it always reminds me of old 50's movies where teens actually went on dates and hung out at the soda shop. The straws (I think) were made of paper ...not plastic....do any of you remember that?
Recently while I was looking for an interesting subject for an artsy fartsy post...I came across an artist who creates incredible art, amazing art...
Amazed....I was amazed.
How someone took something as ordinary as this...
Straws
source
And made this...
Source
The artist's name is Sang Sik Hong and he takes thousands of ordinary drinking straws and makes masterpieces

Here is the Artist making some small adjustments
I wonder how many straws were used here!!!!

Absolutely Incredible!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! and if you have a sweetie....do this

ReplyDeleteThanks Delores, im glad you enjoyed it!
DeleteI remember paper straws and dates and drinking sodas and all of that stuff. In other words I am getting old. LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL! You and me both Beth!
DeleteThat really is amazing! I always drink out of a straw! I'll think of it the next time I get one out of the box! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI wonder where he got the idea! I would love to know. Thanks for your sweet comment
DeleteI never did the straw sharing thing but it does look romantic ....amazing what he can do with straws
ReplyDeleteOne day soon I think i will make a shake to share with the hubby...its not too late right?

Wow! That is amazing! Who thinks of those kinds of things! While I was in ND visiting my sister-in-law we went to the Art Museum at the University and saw an exhibit with art made from actual dead preserved bugs and it was beautiful and presented in unique ways.I love mixed media art but some people go way beyond my imagination.
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, that sounds like a cool exhibit...though I dont think I would get too close! Lol
DeleteWOW that is just amazing!! People just blow me away with what they can think and do.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE artists that think outside the box
DeleteMe too! You find the coolest things I never even heard of. You're my cultural guide :)
DeleteThat's incredible! Artistic people amaze me... wow!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mindy, glad you liked it
DeleteAmazing! If you share straw, make sure the other person doesn't slurp up the drink all in one gulp. That is my advice for the day.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks Sally!
ReplyDeleteHad to come back to check this out. Still just amazes me!
ReplyDeleteI like to annoy people I'm sitting with, or nearby, by slurping obnoxiously loud when trying to get the last drops of my milkshake or whatever it is. Nothing should go to waste, and people act like straws aren't made for slurping. The nerve of them! This post reminded me of a childhood song, "Sipping cider through a straw." Do you know that one, Joanne? "First cheek to cheek, then lip to lip..." It didn't get more heated than that. It's a cute one.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
xoRobyn
