A to Z Challenge 2012 ~~E is for Emergency Room...again

Just wish we didn't have to be there so often.




Last night my Mom complained of chest and stomach pains. The Doc advise quite wisely to get her to the E.R.  ASAP.

You see Heart Attack symptoms can be very very different in women

                              Symptoms like


Shortness of breath -may occur with or without chest discomfort.

Nausea and light-headedness

Flu-like symptoms, including chills and cold sweats

Heart Palpitations

Chest discomfort (angina): Pain, tightness or pressure in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back.

Discomfort in other areas, including pain or discomfort in: one or both arms ( especially the left arm), the back, between the shoulder blades, neck, Jaw or Stomach.

Heartburnor indigestion

Extreme fatigue

Prior to a heart attack women have felt...

Unusual fatigue

sleep disturbances
shortness of breath

indigestion

anxiety
                                                                                   




These can all mean something is very very wrong. So if you feel any of these symptoms...better safe than sorry; go to the doctor or ER.


It was 3am before they let my mom go home after a battery of different tests. No evidence of a heart Attack, and no blood clots; so that means today it will be another follow-up with her regular doctor....

Now since I am doing the A to Z challenge I want to post a bit about one of my all time faves....Doris Day.




I love her!!! Films like Love Me or leave Me, The Pajama Game, Please don't Eat The Daisies, The Man Who Knew Too Much and With Six You Get Egg Roll I could watch them over and over again. I love her voice too;....and can we talk about her wardrobe!!!! Love love Love, but none of it would be complete without that gorgeous girl next door smile.

A to Z Challenge 2012~~~ C is for CAT Fear

     My best friend "Ann"  has a fear of just about every animal known to man.

 Even little birdies, puppies, and especially cats.


Our other friend "J"had two cats.

        One was named Sapporo and the other was named Cassandra.


Everytime we got together at "J's" house her cat Sapporo would cuddle and rub her face on my leg.

And to my friend "Ann" Sapporo would do......

You get the picture. This cat smelled fear and knew just what to do to illicit more.



Needless to say "Ann" was scared to death and tried to avoid Sapporo whenever she could, but lurking in the shadows Sapporo would jump out to terrorize Ann and I swear sometimes I could hear the cat's maniacal laugh.... I have to admit  there were times  when I saw Sapporo flying through the air like a Tomahawk missile.....I well......giggled too.



Both cats lived to the ages of 21 and 22
 when the cat passed away...(Though sad for our friend "J" ) Ann felt a a teeny tiny bit relieved.


The terror was over.


Peace had returned to the kingdom



Until....
                     six months ago when our friend adopted Ruby

It's that time of year when our kitchens are turned in laboratories and we awake to find moldy bread or dying plants on our kitchen table, and it's there on purpose!




Last year I had eight tiny fans on day and night trying to find out how long batteries lasted. The humming drove me coo coo for cocoa Puffs.


I have had hard boiled eggs sitting in salted water mimicking the dead sea.


I have jumped rope and ran obstacle courses to find out if music would help with endurance.



We have cut and glued. We have researched and single handedly kept Highlighter pens in business.


Noticed the word WE....enough said.



Well NO MORE!



I have grown my last green bread mold.

                    
Smelled my last stinky test tube and killed my last plant with vinegar.


 I love science but there is just so many exploding soda bottles and rotting potato clocks I can take.


My Son is in fifth grade and yesterday we finished his last science fair project that he will ever HAVE to do.


Now usually when My children do something for the last time I get a bit misty.......lets see if I can conjure up some tears for old times sake........

A to Z Challenge 2012~~~ A Kiss From God

  



She fell down the stairs. 


              It was dark and she was merely trying to get back into the church and she fell down the stairs. Her fall was broken by hitting loose sharp gravel and she was knocked unconscious for a bit.


She broke her arm, wrist and fingers. Her leg was hurt and there were fears that she had broken that as well.


 There was a gash on her nose and the whole side of her face looked like it had been beaten over and over 'til it hardly resembled skin. It was bloody, swollen, black and blue


 She had gravel and pieces of dirt and rocks in her eyes and she could hardly see.




That was just 11 days ago.


This morning she stood in the front of the church and sang like an angel.


Her face had no bruising or scars and her eyes were bright and happy.


If it weren't for the cast on her arm one would never know she had had such a fall.


She stood up there praising God and spoke of how thankful and blest she felt....I thought.....


                                   She is showering Blessings onto all of us there...maybe even some who  feel beaten and battered; Who think why me and why now? We could easily look at her arm in a cast and say "Awww Poor Dear".
 I chose to look at the light shining from her and felt that her love filled words today were definitely a Kiss from God.
