OK Today I am going back.
To the late 60's and 70's. Two shows in particular.
Recently I caught a rerun of a show that I had completely forgotten.
That Girl staring Marlo Thomas. It ran from 1966- 1971
The rerun was silly and predictable but instantly it took me back to the clothes. I remember even then looking at her clothes and thinking how cute they were.
She must have been some kind of style icon because in just one 30 minute show Marlo Thomas' character had 10 costume changes
I loved it!
Check out those cool shades. I loved the fact that she was a dark hair beauty and wasn't made to bleach her hair. I also really loved the eyes!

One of my favorites. I really like those lace up boot s and belt... too cool!
source
Sweet suite with scarf. It 's all about the right accessories.
source
She had the perfect face for this character
source
I love this dress. Easy fit. I even love the shoes!
source
Now onto the 70's. Mary was the "IT" girl. She was independent and oh so fashionable!
Love the belt. I even like "Rhoda's" and "Phillis'" outfits too!
source
All about the accessories again. Simple..no fuss no muss
source
Look at the coat and boots! If this doesn't scream 70's I don't know what does.
source
One of my favorites. simple dress and shoes...classy!
source
Slouchy belts were the thing that made the outfit complete...that and a cute little figure!
source
I posted some videos. In the first one I just love her hair and makeup. She was probably responsible for keeping the false eye lash companies in business!
This is part of the famous Chuckles the Clown episode....Too funny!

Awww, I love Marlo Thomas-she was so cute and spunky!and her outfits? well, they were stylin'
ReplyDeleteI remember "That" Girl....I loved that show. Of course I loved Mary Tyler Moore as well. What a shame Dick Van Dyke has passed away.
ReplyDeleteI remember that show, and she is a darling actress. All those clothes that set the style for lots of viewers, and a funny show.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely so 70's. I rarely watched the show, but I usually watched the opening credits segment if it came on. There was something bubbly about that opening.

I love the 70s! Great fashion. :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED that show and never missed it, she was my idol!! And that is still my favorite style of clothes!!!! Also Sally Field and Patty Duke. Did you hear that the man who played her boyfriend Donald Hollinger died a few years ago? I also loved her eyes, too. I never see repeats of it anywhere, maybe I should check the T.V.Land channel...
ReplyDeletei remember that show
ReplyDeleteI loved the Mary Tyler Moore show. I didn't see That Girl so much because my kids were young then and I was busy with them and working.
ReplyDeleteDick Van Dyke was from Danville IL which was just a few miles from where we lived. It made the show even more interesting for us.
She was so pretty. Love the outfits. You know the scary thing is that most of the stuff in the pictures are back in fashion. I guess that goes to show that good taste never grows old. :-)
ReplyDeleteI liked the styles of that time and also liked the their eye makeup. It was fun visiting the video and noticing how young Betty White looked and thinking how wonderful she still looks. I marvel that she is still a great actress and still working.
ReplyDeleteI love the 60's fashion, early 60's that is. I like the 70's too. Thanks for this fun fashion show from the past.
ReplyDeleteThose two shows really shaped a generation of women. The clothes--classic even today. The hats? Even better.
ReplyDeleteAnother great show for classic clothes was the old "Mission: Impossible" with Barbara Bain, Peter Graves, Martin Landau, Greg Morrison...'Cinnamon' wore the greatest suits, etc.
Those were certainly interesting and colorful styles. Love the pictures you posted!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
