It's the start of the blogging challenge and for me it is convenient because it starts with the letter A and today is Friday...I always post some kind of art on Fridays...So my post today is about Angel Art. Everyone sees them or pictures them differently in their minds. Here are some artist interpretations of angels together with a song that I think fits perfectly into the theme. My question is (after you see the video...cursor top of video for source ) which one of the angels do you identify with? which one did you like the most? For me they are all beautiful but the one that caught my attention was the painting of the little old man with the wings strapped to his back with rope....that's so me. I am no where near "Angel Status" but I like to think that I have the potential to strap on those wings and fly like them. I got a lot to learn and hopefully God is patient with me and all my flaws. Have an awesome weekend and don't forget to come back tomorrow for Saturdays Question...It'll start with B...Blessings, Joanne

We all have the potential to fly!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't choose. They were all beautiful. I was caught up in the song too as it is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteYou ROCK, girlfriend!!! Yes, we both posted about angels today, but your post is so much more beautiful and thought provoking!! And the song!! I'll Fly Away, I have posted that song before. My husband Phil plays it at church and at funerals. He has played and sung it many, many times. Check out Fernando Ortega's song, "If I Flee On Morning Wings". It's beautiful and the words are based on Psalm 139. Have you seen the movie "City Of Angels"? It is so good!! I love this video and the many images of angels, it really stretches your mind!! I do love the two little girl angels, just because of the two little girls in our lives and how sweet and innocent they are. I also like the woman with only one wing, and the angel blowing bubble gum!!! Because it denotes a playful aspect along with all the solemnity. I am SO glad we found each other's blogs!!!!
ReplyDelete@ Becca~ Thanks. I liked your post today too.
ReplyDelete@ Ma~ I like your choice!
@ Alex J. Cavanaugh~ Amen!
@ Ginny~ Thanks! I am glad we found each other's blog too! I will have to check out that song today. I am so happy you liked today's post!
@ Beth~ I know what you mean, but as soon as I saw the old man I knew that was the one for me! So many people have told me that they love that song...I love it too. and today before my husband went to work he was humming it so I guess it just one of those songs that makes one happy!
ReplyDeleteFun! Looking forward to your A to Z posts! =)
ReplyDeleteI do love angels! My grandmother started collecting them for me years ago so I have a ton of angel-themed stuff now.

The very first angel is on the outside of the Bass Hall Building in Ft. Worth TX. It is such a beautiful work of art espcially seeing it in real life.
