U is for~~~The UGLY CRY

source

OK I know pretty weird. I go from writing about the passion of Christ to....THE Ugly CRY. There is no rhyme or reason....ya gotta cut me some slack; the letter today in the A to Z challenge is "U".  I was trying to write something worth while but nothing came to me. I was desperate! It's like when its Christmas eve and you realize that there is one person you forgot to buy a gift for.....you are Desperate and subsequently they are the ones who get the "Chia Head" that year. Consider this post like that Chia Head gift completely weird, unnecessary, but still kinda cute.

When  I was little in order to try and illicit sympathy from my mom I would cry in a mirror to make sure I looked pitiful enough. ...surely if she saw how much   I was suffering I would get that extra piece of chocolate cake...It didn't work. That was the first time that I realized I suffered from ...tum tum tum THE UGLY CRY!!!  We all are capable of the Ugly cry....don't shake your head no.

It starts off a pretty cry then turns quickly. The chin curls up and out and looks like a balled up wrinkled pouch of fat. The lips protrude and quiver.      The mouth opens and the tongue curls into a scoop shape as unnatural sounds emit from the throat. The nose runs ( why is there never any tissue around when this happens?) The eyes squint and squeeze out tears. The face is red and blotchy.....The Ugly cry.

You know who is a pretty crier?
Demi Moore. Now, that girl can pretty cry into anyone's heart. Remember the movie Ghost? (the cable company won't let us forget it 'cause it's on about once every week!) Well, that's what I want to strive for...a pretty one teared cry that rolls down my face and into the hearts of everyone around me.

Instead  whenever I'm really upset I look like Lucy Riccardo with added runny nose, minus lipstick that's extended further than lip line......but still ugly.

Whats worse is that I cry so easily. I cry at sad movies, commercials and even sad cartoons. Remember when Nemo couldn't find his Dad? sniff sniff.   I cry when I am extremely  happy and even when I laugh, which is also super annoying.

Why can't I be like Scarlet in Gone with the Wind; she displayed those beautiful eyes overflowing and cheeks stained with tears but yet she looked beautiful as she gazed into her Ashley's eyes  ahhh........So I have resolved myself to step away from the ugly cry and try to leaving it behind.

So the next time I cry I will not........um....whats that?....there on the side bar....didn't I have 70 followers this morning?  Why are there only 69 now?...OK OK I have been un-followed.....NO big deal. It's happened before. They just don't like ...me...anymore...no big deal...no big de.......

  3. You're too funny!! And I must admit that at times you have made me laugh so hard I almost cried! Well, I guess actresses can control not only rheir emotions, but the way they cry!! Except Lucille Ball. But even she controlled it, because it was supposed to be a funny clown cry! Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you...blog about it!! Ha ha ha ha!!! Have a great day, Joanne!!

  4. That was funny! I never thought too much about crying and try not to cry. But when crying gets out of control with me I have that ugly after cry look with swollen eyes. I hate that. Then everyone knows I have been crying.

  5. lol! Okay, so I also love the way those women like Demi Moore cry in those powerful movie scenes but nothing gets me more then seeing a little kid crying real tears. I am a sucker for it, I know.... lol
