The Sky is Falling

NASA tells us that a satellite the size of a bus is currently readying itself to fall onto the earth by the end of this week. And they don't really know where it will hit.  Well, isn't that special.

Didn't they ever hear of what goes up must come down? Isn't that basic Gravity 101?

So what are we supposed to do? Where should we go?

Should we go this way?

Or that way?

Or maybe wait and see what everyone else does?

Is this a result of poor planning? and what of all the other countless space junk up there...when will they be ready to fall? next month ? next year? Since our Planet is 75 percent water chances are that it will hit an ocean.  There is a 1-in-3,200 chance of satellite debris hitting a person on the ground. That makes me feel a bit better.

But still....that won't stop me from looking at the sky like this on Thursday or Friday

  1. I saw on the news that this one is highly likely to hit a densely populated area. What were they thinking when they sent this up, do they even care how it will come down?

  2. seems the space junk usually ends up in the desert or outback if not in the ocean so we should be ok (I hope)

  5. I think the odds of a person getting hit was better than winning the lottery. I think I'll wear a helmet just in case!

  6. Good grief! I hadn't heard this. I hope it doesn't land on my car, or even worse, my head. :-) Very poor planning indeed.

  7. I love all your little videos, especially the last one! Yes, isn't that just so special. (I think I heard that this is due to Obama cutting money to NASA. Brilliant. Of course, I could be wrong about that.) So, it sounds like the odds of it hitting someone is much smaller than the odds of winning the lottery, or being struck by lightening. That is not comforting.

  9. Yikes. That little bit of information is not helping me to relax! Let's hope it falls in the desert somewhere.
