Sorry for the delay on this post. Today, I want to write about lockets. These beauties have been around for hundreds of years and have secretly carried, ashes, etchings of people , locks of hair, and even poison! Thank goodness now-a-days they are used mostly to carry pictures of loved ones.
My daughter received this beautiful locket from her grandmother a few years ago and she only wears it on special occasions. I asked her If I could use it in my blog and she said
"Yes, but please be careful with it.". She treasures it so much.
I put it around one of my favorite angels who held it safe while I snapped the picture. ..and I could be wrong but I swear I see a hint of a smile on her face!
Here are some other lockets I found on the net that I thought you might enjoy.

I love dollhouses so this one is a perfect fit for me!
Which one is your favorite? Do you have a locket? I would to hear the story behind it!
You are making me really want to go out and shop for a locket now!! The prettiest is the verdigris with the bird, I really think I will go there and see how much it costs, thanks for letting us know where to get it. I also love the triple one. wonder just what is in the bible one? this was really fun!!! Now I'm off to Smilesophie! Oh, I have one locket, no story behind it really. It was the first gift my daughter-in-law ever gave me.

I vaguely remember having a locket at some point. These are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteJust yesterday I went thru my jewelry to pick out some things to sell while gold is so high. And I cane across a locket that I have had forever, my aunt gave it to me when I was a small child. It is gold with a tiny diamond in the center and when I opened it up I found a small picture of me as a baby. I plan to give it to my daughter in law. Great post.
