Fashion Wednesday~~~Trench Coat

This week I'm all about the Trench coat...I LOVE mine. Trench coats for women have been around forever and they have made several changes throughout the years.

Inspired by military wear the trench very early on became a "go to" coat for women.

Kathrine Hepburn was rockin' the artsy look way before it was cool. still it was a bit too baggy for my taste.

Here is one famous trench that was chosen to make the character of Eve plain and mousy. Not my favorite.

 NOW we're talkin'
Audrey could do no wrong in this sophisticated trench

I love this shorter version with tied belt

This leather trimmed trench is one of my favorites.

Once a belt was introduced at the natural waistline; it transformed the design from a droopy plain coat into a figure flattering extension of whatever we wear underneath.
There is just something so cool about wearing one of these. Whenever I wear mine I instantly have a spring in my step.

                      Do you have a trench?

  3. I just got caught up on all your posts! No, I don't have a trench. I did as a teenager, because I was all caught up in The Girl From U.N.C.L.E. and any good lady spy always wore a trench! You are just like me, I am so scared of bugs, but my camera has helped that, I actually will try and get close to get a picture. But NOT ugly spiders, they make me scream and run. I love your shots and video of the mantis, the spider on the thread would have given me nightmares for a year! Are you kidding me about having to knock on your monitor to start the computer? That was a FUNNY post!!!

  5. I love them too but I'm a little too fluffy for them so I look more like a blueberry with a belt around it ... lol

  7. I love trench coats too. I had one for years that I just loved. I wore it and wore. Finally, my daughters insisted I stop wearing it because they said it was out of style. "This is timeless," was my response. "No Mom, it is not timeless. Huge shoulder pads went out years ago." They were right, but I really loved that coat.

  9. I really like trench coats also. Although, I wish I had use for one right now. After a drought this summer and record breaking exteme high temperatures in TX. I would welcome the need for one. And, they are so attractive!
