OK, here's another tid-bit about me....I LOVE rocks.
Don't ask me why, I just do. whenever we go somewhere I will look for interesting rocks to take home with me. I guess its the way they feel in my hand or the fact that some have have been smoothed by the ocean for thousands of years.
When I was very young I started to paint on rocks. Recently, I found others that like to paint on rocks too and their work is beautiful!
These are simple designs, but aren't they simply beautiful?

These are African inspired rocks

Painting on rocks would be a great project to do with the kids. My KIds love it and we love collecting rocks at the beach.

Have an awesome weekend!

I used to find and paint rocks, too!!! I kept them in a shoebox. these are amazing! I love the African ones.
ReplyDeleteI love rocks, too. I have had one that I really love since I was very little:)
ReplyDeleteI liked the cat with the computer mouse in the video.
these rocks are awesome....I especially love the woman one and the little animals. But even the branches...they're all great.
ReplyDeleteA lovely art form. Love the little guinea pig
ReplyDeleteJoanne, those are absolutely gorgeous! I love the little animals on the rocks and what an art...I too love rocks!
ReplyDeleteShe is an amazing talent. While I love them all, I am particularly drawn to the first display of simple orangic shapes.
ReplyDeleteWonderful rocks. I like the mermaid best. So realistic. Do you remember the phase of the Pet Rock? Must have been the seventies.

The rocks are beautiful. I like them all. The animals are especially nice.
ReplyDeleteI love rocks, too! I've been lugging around a few shoe boxes full since childhood. I have lugged many to my classroom, the kids love classifying them, and find them fascinating. I also give my students a "rock of wisdom" that they choose from a special container, just before they begin the state assessment testing. They keep it on their desk. I've never had them paint rocks, but I think that is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI so had a "Pet Rock" back in the day! LOVED it.
ReplyDeleteMy BFF had one that was painted like her cat ... hehe
