Artsy Fartsy Fri... Saturday? R is for~~~ Rocks

OK, here's another tid-bit about me....I LOVE rocks.

Don't ask me why, I just do. whenever we go somewhere I will look for interesting rocks to take home with me. I guess its the way they feel in my hand or the fact that some have have been smoothed by the ocean for thousands of years.

When I was very young I started to paint on rocks.  Recently, I found others that like to paint on rocks too and their work is beautiful!

These are simple designs, but aren't they simply beautiful?

 Please enjoy this video.
Painting on rocks would be a great project to do with the kids. My KIds love it and we love collecting rocks at the beach.

  6. She is an amazing talent. While I love them all, I am particularly drawn to the first display of simple orangic shapes.

  7. Wonderful rocks. I like the mermaid best. So realistic. Do you remember the phase of the Pet Rock? Must have been the seventies.

  9. I love rocks, too! I've been lugging around a few shoe boxes full since childhood. I have lugged many to my classroom, the kids love classifying them, and find them fascinating. I also give my students a "rock of wisdom" that they choose from a special container, just before they begin the state assessment testing. They keep it on their desk. I've never had them paint rocks, but I think that is a great idea!
