A to Z 2012~~~K is for~~ Killer Pizza Dough

My Friend wanted to make home made pizza.

But she didn't want to make the dough part.

So she called a pizzeria near her job and asked if she could buy some dough from them.

                           they said yes.

She bought three or four huge dough rounds and the pizza place worker put each into its own saran wrapped  container.

she was happy....but not for long.

OK, seems that she was one long train ride away from home. My Friend...(lets call her Olivia) carried this big bag (that contained her precious cargo), her purse, and another bag that contained ingredients for a home made pizza.

As luck would have it...she was able to sit down on the already crowded rush hour train.

She smiled at her good fortune. She placed the bag of dough between her feet.

It was summer and unfortunately the air conditioning on that particular train was hardly working.

More people piled in and in turn made the subway car even warmer.....

Do you see where I am going with this?

                                No?.....read on.

because of the long ride home she decided to close her eyes.

When she opened them she noticed that everyone was looking at her like this

It seems that the warmth of the train car had cause the dough to rise and expand even more. In fact it was growing so much that it had grown right out of its containers and was trying to escape from the top of the bag itself. She tried to contain it but to no avail. She was fighting a giant pizza dough form of the Blob monster and losing big time.

The train finally got to her stop and in her arms she carried and tried to contain the gelatinous mountain of dough.

Olivia was covered with flour and sticky dough oozed from the tops of her folded arms. She was hunched over pleading for people to just "Let ME OUT!!!"

After exiting the car Ala "Igor style" She plopped the heavy load into a garbage can and walked home looking like a huge powdered beaten and exhausted cartoon character.

needless to say from then on she had her pizza delivered.

  1. Now that's my kind of luck! Frankly, I don't purchase many store bought frozen pizzas, and here in the Philippines where I am currently, there isn't narya 'great' pizza to be found.

Instead, I prefer to make my own dough from BisQuick, and then toss the appropriate toppings aboard after a generous blessing of Ragu spaghetti sauce.

And yes, I do make a complete mess in the process. lol

  4. OMG the attack of the yeast monster. You know, grocery stores sell pre made pizza shells...no rising required.

  9. Oh, funny post, but sad, too! I make my pizza dough in my bread machine. It's so easy!! (I never use it to make bread!)

  10. oh that is funny. My gran once tried to make bread and when it didnt rise properly, she got cross and buried it in the garden.
Apparently these very weird white mounds puffed out of the dirt later that day
