Anyways
So I'm shopping for a Father's day gift for my husband.
He has enough shirts and ties and pants and shorts.
He doesn't wear cologne very often and when he does I don't like it. I love the way he smells right after a shower...Irish spring...love it.
A few years ago I gave him a drill.
then a cool tool belt that he has never used even though he specifically asked for it! GRRRRR
After 16 years of marriage. 22 years total together...I am kind of running out of things to get him.
Then

Whats the one thing every man wants in the summer?

No not that ...come on think . What does a Dad really want?
source
Seriously....think hard...
YES!

I went to two Home Depots, One Costco and two Lowes and I finally found the perfect one.
There is one problem though....first, I didn't realize how big it is. This thing is tremendous
source
not exactly this big I think my purchase is bigger! :O)
This thing is going to take up half the yard...what was I thinking?!! and secondly, what's worse... It's so heavy I can't get the box out of the trunk. So I have been driving this 2 ton monstrosity around for days and days.
So Sunday after his Father's Day Breakfast with all his favorites; We will bring him out to my car open the trunk and say Voila! Not too tacky? Ugh!
Next year Boxers and socks baby; Boxers and Socks.
I hate trying to think of stuff to buy Tim he will at times ask for stuff which I will get but then he will not use what it is which is very frustrating...
ReplyDeleteHe is the hardest person to buy for, sometimes I end up getting him gift cards from stores I think he might like.
That is so funny. I'm cracking up at the story and that last picture. I DO THINK it's a fantastic gift, though. I hope he doesn't break his back taking it out of the truck and assembling it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Joanne.
xoRobyn
PS I mean putting it up. (I guess you don't "assemble" a hammock.)
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll keep us posted on how it goes on Sunday.
Ha! Great idea:)
ReplyDeletetotally love my hammock. Warm day, good book and it is nana nap time :)
ReplyDeleteI bet he loves his hammock!
ReplyDeleteThat's fabulous!! Hilarious. Hope he loves it! (I know I would.) ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea! Where did you finally get it? Maybe we can see a picture when it is set up? I have some pictures of people's front porches on busy highways, that is where they have their hammocks, can you imagine?
ReplyDeleteI like it! You made me life.
ReplyDeleteThat hammock would take up my yard and that of the next door neighbor. Nice thought though.

Tossing It Out
Great idea, and then he can put it together. :-)
ReplyDeleteHa, Ha, Ha. So cool.
ReplyDeleteMy sister gave me a hammock for Christmas years ago, one you sling between two trees, only problem, No trees. I've never used it, how sad.
Your husband's hammock though, could accommodate not only his whole family, but all his friends too. You could have a party in that thing.
God bless you and your husband this father's day, Geoff.
