The Blessings Blogfest

O My Gosh! I almost forgot that I joined The Blessings Blogfest  over at  http://tyreanswritingspot.blogspot.com/

I am supposed to write ten blessings That I am grateful for...

#1. I am so grateful that I remembered ( be it late) about this challenge. I think we should all take time out everyday to be thankful for our blessings.

#2 I am Blessed with two beautiful children. They are the reason why I get up in the morning....seriously i mean who else is gonna feed 'em? I kid I kid. They are the sweetest kids ever and I thank God for them each and everyday!

#3 I am blessed with a wonderful loving husband. He makes me smile everyday...even when I am mad at him...darn it all!

#4 I am blessed with God's mercy on me and his healing touch.

#5 I am grateful for having a Dad that saw the humor in everyday life. Without that Lord only knows how I would have made it through some really rough times in my life.

#6 I am blessed with a home. So many are homeless because of natural disasters. I pray everyday for their healing and safety

#7 I feel blessed to have this blog. it's a place where I feel free and it helps me focus on writing

#8 My garden. It's in and starting to bloom

#9 My Dog Max...the sweetest dog in the world.

#10 My Faith....I can't imagine my life without it.

Thank you Tyrean for this challenge and sharing it with us! Blessings, Joanne

PS I'm sad to say that I am having a lot of trouble getting on blogs to write comments. It seems that when there is a url option I can leave comments but when there is just google It doesn't allow me to leave anything.  I am so sorry if you have not seen comments from me but know that I have been reading your blogs.

Roller Disco Song and Video~~~MY EYES!!! MY EYES!!!

A while ago a familiar song came on the radio while I drove my children here and there. It was "Bounce Rock Skate Roll" by VAUGHAN MASON & CREW

I cranked up the volume and shouted "OOOOO this is a great song!!!

"People danced to this while on roller skates wearing the coolest outfits ever!" I shouted.

                      OK it was cool then

I sang along to the song and told them about the first time I ever put a Walkman to my ear.

                                                                             source

It was the ultimate......hearing the music blasting in your ears in stereo! and there was always someone who had it up so loud you could hear there song a mile away! not too annoying right?

remember stage light make up? it always made us look so natural

So as I sang loudly in the car,  my kids were so amazed at what such a cool song it was

And they wanted to hear more

But alas as soon as it was getting good the song ended.

The kids were disappointed

                                                                        source

But in my head I still had it playing... so when I got home I went on You tube and found this video of the song and a clip from the roller disco movie "Roller Boogie" I was  SHOCKED! Where was the coolness? the awesome dancing? the fantastic style? see for yourself...

WARNING: IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT YOU NOT WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO
IT WILL CAUSE NAUSEA AND SEVERE VOMITING WHEN YOU SEE THE HORRENDOUS STYLES AND  DANCING......(and the realization that we actually wore those clothes  akkkkkkk!!!!) DISCO DIDN'T DIE IT WAS KILLED BY A PAIR OF SKATES! Though I have to admit I would have liked to have tried it just once ;o)

Did this song bring back memories? Did you roller disco?

Saturday's Question~~~Who Will Get The "Doe Ray Me"

This week's question didn't come easily to me, But I think I have come up with an interesting one.....I hope.

Here it is....You have inherited or won a significant amount of money....Yahoo!!! lets say it's one million dollars!

There's a catch....there's always a catch.

You get to keep 10,000 but in order to keep this money you have to give the rest away.....what would you do with it?

Donate it to your old Alma mater?

                                                                     source

Give it to a local zoo to help with food costs?

                                                                         source

Give it to Research?

                                                                            source

Give it to a charity that helps people in another part of the world?

                                                                           source

Or right here at home?

                                                            source

Create a scholarship in your name in Honor of someone you loved?

Invest in someone else's dream?

So what will it be?  Who will get the "doe ray me"?

Have a beautiful weekend...and if you can please take a few moments to think of  all those soldiers who sacrificed everything for our freedom.
