Eureka! I looked out the window this morning and I saw huge patches of Grass...it's dead or rather sleeping grass , but it was there! The last few days have brought us higher than freezing temps and it has cleared some of the snow away. I'm trying not to think about the predicted snow for this week and I am just enjoying these non-snow sunny days. Even my dog Max has enjoyed hanging out on the patio drinking in the sunshine. When I feel (be it true or not) that spring is right around the corner my mind instantly goes to gardening. Last year my Husband cleared and filled a section in our back yard for an organic garden. Ever since I leaped to the organic side of things (cancer tends to change us a bit) I have yearned for an organic garden. He cleared a 8x8 space, dug it out about two feet down then framed it; he then filled it in with organic soil and we started to plant. We planted tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, squash, jalapenos, cucumbers and even had a small section with strawberries. I must admit we planted way to many tomato plants I mean we could have started our own spaghetti sauce franchise! By mid summer the plants were a jumbled mess because we planted things too close to each other. Live and learn. We enjoyed it and look forward to this year's garden. I can't wait to post pictures of it to share with you. I found two links that might help if you are thinking of starting your own organic garden.

ReplyDeleteWe are trying our hand at gardening again this year. Last year nothing but the green beans came up...and we had beans out the wazoo!
ReplyDeleteIt is still super frozen here, but I'm so ready.
