Embarrassing Elevator Ride

Embarrassing things happen to me all the time. In fact chances that I will make a bit of a fool of myself on any given day is probably 75%.

When you do something to merit the embarrassment well you can pretty much  smack your forehead and say "Duh!" But how many times does your embarrassment come from the actions of someone else? Lots right?

Case in point.

My Dad was in the hospital. I was going to visit him. His room was on the third floor. I got on the elevator with a man and woman. While between the first and second floors I hear the lady laugh and call the man a pig. The doors open and they both rushed out all the while the Man was laughing hysterically. The doors closed and it was then that I smelled the most horrible stench I had ever smelled. Yes the man had poofed it....really poofed it. I mean people this was no regular S.B.D. This was Atomic grade Nuclear-weapon-of-mass-destruction kind of thing. The armed forces would clearly be interested in using this guy.

OK, now you get the picture...there I am alone in the elevator PRAYING that there is no one on the third floor waiting for that elevator. "Oh my Gosh they're going to think this putrid smell is from ME!!!"

"Please, let there be no one waiting for this elevator!"

"Please, let there be no one waiting for this elevator!"

" PLEASE DON'T LET ANYONE BE WAITING FOR THIS ELEVATOR!!!" I screamed in my head.

Seriously,  you KNOW what happened right? Not only were there people waiting for this stench-filled cubicle of horror...the group consisted of Doctors and Interns who seemed to be making their rounds.

I quickly exited and as I rounded the corner I thought "Well, maybe the smell dissipated and they won't notice. I mean they are doctors...they've smelled just about every putrid smell there is right?" Just then I heard the ding sound signaling the elevator doors were closing and I also heard...
"What the H*ll!!!???" from someone inside.

I guess that was one smell that even caught the professionals by surprise.

Life...live it...and laugh.

  5. I commented on this yesterday before blogger became a mean person and got rid of all of our comments. LOL One reason I hate to ride in an elevator.

  6. That would be embarrassing but at least they didn't know you and they probably looked at you and thought "that couldn't have been her." :) You really are good natured about things. I sometimes relive embarrassing moments and feel bad all over again. That is worse sometimes.
