Saturday's Question~~~Not Ready to Give it Up Yet? or Ever?

When I first got married and came back from our Honey moon we stopped at the grocery store for food and general stuff because there was nothing at the apartment. I remember buy chicken, coffee, bread ,milk and sugar. I also bought a small pump bottle of dish washing liquid. It had yellow flowers on it and it was placed near the faucet.

Every time I ran out of dish liquid instead of replacing that small plastic bottle...I just refilled it. It's been 16 years and that darn plastic bottle has traveled with me to two apartments and finally to our home. The brand name has long since worn off but you can still make out the yellow flowers. I can't get rid of it. I have gone through three sets of dishes (we are the butter finger family) and countless bowls and appliances, but that cheap little plastic pump bottle is still going strong. In fact I bet If I bought one of those fancy shmancy dish washing liquid dispensers it wouldn't last the month.

My question to you is...Is there something that you hang onto that you just cant let go of? Is it so comfy cozy that the thought of giving it up makes you cringe? or does it works so well that you see no reason to rid yourself of it?

  1. We bought a Christmas ornament on our honeymoon but many years later the kids broke it. I cannot think of anything but a table that has been with us forever....interesting thought here.

  2. I have an old housecoat like that. Really worn out. When I was in the hospital with pneumonia several years ago Jim actually brought that housecoat to the hospital for me to wear, ignoring the others.

  4. Oh gosh, let me think. That would be EVERYTHING!!! I used to have an orange bathrobe, floor length and zip front. It was so comfy; I wore it for years till it was literally holey and threadbare. Also many things that belonged to my mom.

  5. I'm a proto hoarder, so if it wasn't for my special BW I'd be keeping a lot of things. Had a beer festival T shirt from the early '80s that developed many holes. Finally my lovely BW took it out of the hamper and disposed it.

  6. I tend to hang on to a lot of things that I find comfy. I have a coffee cup that says, "mother" on it that the kids gave me over 20 years ago. It's had a chip in it for years, but I still use it.

  8. Yes, #3 it is. I have stuffed animals whose colors are faded and body parts mangled but they are mine 'til the end.
